Renewing Australian Medicare card from Thailand?

Has anyone had any experience doing this from Thailand or can it even be done? I have been out of Australia for over 4 years now and see my Medicare card is expiring October this year. I probably wont even be eligible for Medicare I think after 5 years but would still like to renew my card if possible. I would be deemed a non resident for Taxation purposes as I have been out of the country and haven't returned for over 4 years nor do I hold property in Oz
