Thailand, February 4, 2019 – Romance is in the air and it's clear many loved-up travellers are too as they head to Bangkok this February for Valentine's Day.

Advanced booking data from Airbnb, the leading people-to-people travel platform, shows that Bangkok is the tenth most popular Valentine's Day destination in the world this year.

Known as the Venice of the East, Airbnb travellers will be falling in love all over again this Valentine's Day as they get off-the-beaten path to explore local neighbourhoods in the city that they wouldn’t otherwise have known.

Beyond quality time spent with their loved one, travellers are now in search of a magical travel experience that is both healthy and authentic to Thailand. Locals and travellers from China, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and the United States, are not only exploring Bangkok, but are also taking day trips out to secondary provinces such as Ayutthaya and Saraburi.

Following the successful first series of Channel 3's Love Destiny (Buppesannivas), destinations that have been influenced by popular Thai TV dramas are seeing increased interest from travellers. Here are some Homes and Experiences where Airbnb travellers are looking to rekindle their love, enjoy the historic and cultural sites, and immerse in the local way of life.

Here are some of the top ten most popular Valentine's Day destinations in the world:

1. Christchurch (NZ)
2. Los Angeles (US)
3. Queenstown (NZ)
4. Paris (FR)
5. Auckland (NZ)
6. London (GB)
7. Miami (US)
8. Twizel (NZ)
9. West Coast (NZ)
10. Bangkok (TH)

While Valentine's Day is traditionally considered a time for couples travel, Airbnb data uncovers a new trend: the growth in solo travel. Advanced booking data for 2019 shows that people travelling solo on Valentine's Day this year has increased 98% year-on-year, globally, with Paris being the most booked destination by solo Airbnb travellers.

Closely followed by Los Angeles (US), London (GB), New York (US) and San Francisco (US), Bangkok is the sixth most popular Valentine's Day destination in the world for solo travellers having seen almost 72% growth in solo bookings from 2018 to 2019.

Come on darling, i want you now, why are you gasping,? is it because you find me irresistible.?

No silly woman, i cant breath because of all the smog.:cheesy:

Maybe TAT can get some pointers here from TANZ??? To get Twizel (?) on that list seems like a major achievement so learn from the best and one day soon Thailand can score 10 out of 10.

P.S. never heard of Twizel and obviously never been there but I am sure it rocks.

Gosh, being called Number 10 use to be an insult.

Also a great place for blind date and a sausage surprise in the mysterious hazy air of bangs and cocks ????

Solo hansum male travellers will possibly be making a beeline to Nana Paza to share true love with one or more of the service providers on this romantic occasion.

Maybe there might even be some "specials" on offer as an added drawcard.

Two for the price of one......... or buy two, get one free!

Oh come on!! I knew girls in Nana years ago who would stop eating while you did the deed.

What's more romantic than that after 20 Chang beers?
