It's many many years since I had to exchange Thai baht cash for US$ in Bangkok. Silly question probably but do I need to take my passport along with me?

Yep, I even take my pp to the 7/11, just in case.

Me too and in not needed in the past.

But nowadays the signs requiring passport are everywhere.
