Can stay longer on non-b extension visa, after cancelling work permit?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I need some serious advice regarding staying in Thailand over extension (Non-B)

In my case: I have recently resigned from work. My work permit expires on 28.08.2019 and my non-b extension expires on 11.11.2019.

HR department told me they will cancel my work permit on 15.02.2019, and I need to leave Thailand on 23.02.2019 (They sounded flexible). Please note : My passport is with me, never handed over to them after my resignation ( my extension expires on 15.11.2019).

Now my question is : If I stay here two-three months more to find another suitable job would that be a problem ? Has anyone faced any problem similar to my case as immigration rules always changes.

I have googled it but wanted to know real experiences.

Thank a lot for your advice

I can't find the thread now (maybe somebody else remembers the title, or you can find it), but somebody opened a thread here a few days, or maybe a week ago, and it was somehow like this:

His job ended, and he left a few days after this and came back with a tourist visa.

When he had a new job and wanted to convert this to a non-B he got fined because he effectively overstayed after his last job ended.

The day your job officially ends you have to leave the country right way, or apply for an extension which will be denied and you get 7 days to leave the country, if you don't do it you will be on overstay.

I doubt your HR department is flexible, because the company has to pay you loan until your job officially ends, and when it officially ends your extension ends as well.

Your extension expires as soon as your work stops.
