After having taken the VIP 2 story bus back from Khon Kaen recently, I realize how much better this option is!

Does anyone know if there is a similar service that goes to the Koh Chang Ferry from Ekamai?

I haven't seen a 2 story vip bus to Trat . The bus will go to Trat bus station. There are also buses from Morchit

The nr of floors dont really mater, but the seat comfort. There are since a year or 2 2 direct trips EKAMAI (now also stop at airport busstation) to Laem Ngop=Ferryport. in the (early ( morning, at I think 7.30 and 9.30

Buses to trat, similar stdd mostly, about ev. 30 mins. 3 or 4 different companies.

from MOCHIT its fatser, as they use the Motorway, and now often also stop at airport, about hourly.

IF you find the next trip too late or full, take any bus to Chantaburi and change there again.
