Different banks seem to have different rules. Even the branches of the same bank seem to have different rules.

It is relatively easy with a passport and maybe a copy of your rental agreement. Many people on here swear by Siam Commercial Bank.

Personally I would recommend you go to Bangkok Bank, main branch, Soi Phipat on Silom. Farang friendly should have no problems.
