Big Joke: Five men arrested for Valentine's Day abduction and extortion of Singaporean

Immigration chief Lt-Gen Surachate Hakparn, in his capacity as deputy commissioner of the tech police, yesterday announced the arrest of five Thai men for the abduction and extortion of 350,000 baht from a Singaporean man. 

 

Surachate said that the Singaporean had been eating at a KFC at a well known department store complex in the Rachada area of Bangkok on February 14th. 

 

When he went to the car park to get into his vehicle he was abducted by five men who bundled him into a black Mitsubishi Pajero and drove him to a resort in Chonburi. 

 

There he was extorted of 351,150 baht before he was released along with his car at a gas station in the province. 

 

The victim waited until February 23rd before reporting the incident to Huay Khwang police.

 

Information received soon led to the issuing of warrants for abduction at gunpoint and other crimes. The gang face 20 years in jail each, said Sanook. 

 

The gang members were named as Sirasit or "Max", Anusorn or "Ben", Nanthachai or "Nuk", Attachai or "Ron" and Kittisak.

 

There were suggestions that the gang may have been responsible for other abductions and victims were asked to come forward so that the crimes could be investigated.

I think the cop on the right of the picture spends a bit of time at KFC.

That works out for each of them at a daily budget of 7.59 Baht for fish head soup and rice. Well done, you dumbos!

I suspect police, want to take odds? want to bet no one goes to jail. Victim can't recognize any of the assailants.
