Has anyone done an employer change on their WP in Phuket?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Quick question here... Moving from agency to private school and based on previous posts here in the forum it looks doable to stay on the existing Non-B visa and change employer per below:

1.) Obtain termination letter from current employer (that states last day of employment)

2.) Ask new employer to put together paperwork for new extension of stay stamp (including pre-approval letter from Labour office - is this the document they need?)

3.) Once new employer has put the pack together, current work permit can be cancelled

4.) Same day the current extension of stay cancelled

5.) Still the same day new extension of stay stamped in based in new docs from new employer

6.) New employer to have new work permit issued (Can the old one still be used, just using a new entry for new employer?)

Anything I have missed? Documents or timing?

Has anyone actually done this in Phuket?

Don't mind flying out to Penang and getting a new Non-B, but if it can be done locally, I'd go for that.

Thanks.

I'm thinking of doing this, but not in Phuket.

My lawyer suggested to add the second company to the WP, then ask immigration to transfer, showing docs from second company.
