Starbucks Coffee Thailand says it has been recognised for the fifth consecutive year with “Thailand’s Most Admired Brand & Why We Buy 2019” award in the category of Modern Coffee Shops. Nednapa Srisamai, managing director, represented the company in receiving the award.

The award is organised by BrandAge, a leading business and branding magazine, which has looked at the most trusted brands among Thai consumers for 19 years.

“Starbucks Thailand is honoured to have received the award from BrandAge magazine for five consecutive years. We will continue our efforts to enhance the Starbucks experience and deliver the very best service to our customers, from sourcing world-class coffee beans and developing our partners,” Nednapa said.

And I award them the Most Honorable Certificate of the Grand Poopa for being the most expensive, overrated coffee place in Thailand.

"...in the category of Modern Coffee Shops."

Call me ever so slightly cynical but one suspects the competition was limited.

its bloody awful coffee, cant stand it, even mcdonalds best coffee is better in most cases

Image result for starbucks awful coffee joke imagesThis is why I do not use Starbucks or any other coffee chain................I cannot understand the menu !!!!

I just don,t get it. Twice I had one of their "coffees" and in neither case could I detect any coffee flavour, very strange !

They should get an award for ripping off customers when they charge 130 baht for a cappuccino in Thailand. That's more expensive than in the US.

Coffee is bad, but Starbucks' main sell is not coffee. It is "a 3rd space, between work and home". They are selling a place to hang out and spend money.

Regarding the award, surely Starbucks, as a FARANG brand, is better managed than any of the Thai competition. So, easy win.

went in one once, never again, usually go to Amazon coffee, 50 baht and just as good. Seems to be the place for Thais to show off in with their Mac books etc

Amazon coffe is not any good IMO. Try Benjamit coffee when you visit Pattaya, best coffee there is and they roast their own beans. 60 baht.

I think the award is fair. They have ignited brand recognition and Thai's love it almost as much as Dunkin Doughnuts and other international brands. The product might be technically crap but that's beside the point, they manipulated and manipulated well, grant award.. True coffee might be same price and a better coffee but to Thais it doesn't have facebook and instagram appeal they crave, forget the caffeine, and they didn't wasted 1-2 months salary on an iphone x or samsung 9 to take pictures in true coffee..

translation;  charging usa prices and the morons are paying it

if you dont need a fancy place to sit the 7/11 capuchino for 25-35 baht is fine. sit at a food court with a 7/11 capuchino

benjamit does quite well emulating italian style roast/blend coffee. 60 baht for a thai coffee espresso is a bit steep considering no aircon but they have a very expensive la marzocco leva machine.  pook restaurant uses their coffee and they also do it correctly

I wonder how much Starbucks paid for such an honor?

Grand Poopa for being the most expensive

And that is exactly why it's so popular in Thailand.

Its just overpriced coffee for tourists. I heard they have to pay 100% import tax on their coffee, not sure if that's true

Agree - Benjamit coffee is good AND you can buy packs to use in your filter machine at home.  Any other recommended brands in the Pattaya area?
