CAN SEND THE 800K THB OVER A YEAR?

Recommended Posts

the immigratio officer told me that the 800K thai baht for retirement visa does not have to be

sent to a thai account at once.

my question is, if sent few times, is there a time frame to send this amount from overseas bank account?

for example, if i get 5000 USD to my bank account, than 2 months later another 7000 USD, than 3 months

later another 6000 USD, than , over few more months, 2 more payments of 3000-4000 USD each.

total one year to send those 800,000 THB from overseas accounts to the thai bank account.

is that acceptable by  immigration ?

The 800k must be in the bank two resp. three months before application.

Aside that, the number and timing of transfers is irrelevant.

If you never spend any of it, it will be OK for applying for an extension of stay on the basis of retirement by end of about 30 months. If you wish to spend the money you are transferring, the income method will need to be used, and the transfer would need to be just over US$2,000 per month at current exchange rates.
