Looking for accurate advice on applying for a retirement visa. My situation summerized as follows.

1.Just finished my employment contract last week.

2.My current visa was due to expire in June. As my employment is finished. The company had the visa expiry date "cancelled/amended".And my passort is stamped with the new visa expiry date as 15th April.

3. I have a Thai bank account with in excess of the 800,000 , but this is from income i have  earned in Thailand.

4. My preference is to apply for a retirement visa based on income from overseas and deposited from hereon into my account. In the required amount of  65000 per month.

Questions :

1. Can i apply for the (income based) retirement visa before my current  visa expires on the 15th? (Note that i have not been transferring any money into Thailand)

2. Do i have to leave Thailand and re-enter (on say a 60 day tourist visa) and then make application for Retirement visa?

I want to apply for the retirement visa without having to leave Thailand. On the basis of depositing  the 65000 each month, into my account, from this month onwards. Possible?

I think you have a extension of stay based upon working not a valid non-b visa.

You could change the reason for your extension of stay form working to one based upon retirement at any time now up to April 15th.

You would need at least 1 or 2 transfers into a Thai bank to use for the proof of your 65k baht income to apply for the extension.

If you are from a country that still issues proof of income you use that to prove our income.

Thanks ubonjoe...my employent on the non-B  has finished so i guess what i have is some sort of extension ,however i can only stay until 15th April.

So do you mean i can make a deposit a 65000 into my account (today for example) and then apply for my retirement visa (based on income ) without leaving Thailand? I am Australian and over 50 years.

How many months do i have to show deposits of 65000 for before applying?

You would have to transfer the 65,000 baht from abroad to try and do the extension before the 15th.

Immigrations example for the first extension states only one month is needed.

I suggest you contact your local immigration office about doing one transfer or do one to show them and try to apply for the extension.

I think you can use the income from Thailand as long as you pay the tax on the earnings.

It could not be income from working. If it was a income from an investment it might be accepted.

But the rules as written do not allow for it.
