they want ID card? even though they also ask for copy of passport

- they ask for house registration, is that Residence certificate?

Those are for a Laotian to apply for it.

they ask for certificate of retirement, i tried to email the embassy in Bangkok and it just bounces back. I'll call them but what's the best way to get a letter stating I'm retired? even though I'll be 50 with no pension

Most people have done a statement that they are retired witnesses by a embassy. Others have used a income letter showing any amount of income.

Is it possible to apply for and get at Savannakhet a ME Non-O based on marriage if you currently already have an annual extension of stay that is valid for two more months? in other words, in a unique situation of dual residency where time in country is inconvenient and where one would like to time the visa date in a certain month, is it possible to apply for and obtain this visa early, even though you already have an annual extension to stay that is not yet expired or expiring soon?

Not a problem since the extension ends on the day you leave the country. The only complication could be having a valid re-entry permit when you enter the country and want to use the visa.

yes, there are two complications as you noted. There is a re-entry permit attached to the existing extension, and there is also a work permit attached to the visa. I know the work permit should be canceled, but not sure how that would work out with a new visa granted early in Savannakhet? Also, as I understand, no re-entry permit is needed with the multiple entry marriage visa in that you can enter Thailand for only 90 days at a time and none is required in that it is already multiple entry?

Is combo method still being accepted for extensions? Is there any more info available about this? I have heard it was rejected in Jomtien.

I was referring to a For a Non-O Visa based on retirement from a consulate abroad.

As to extensions within Thailand, I think we will need to create a spreadsheet showing which offices have which rules for retirement-extensions, as they all seem to have made up different "interpretations" of the rules - especially where combo is concerned.

So, "proof of retirement" can be an affidavit, notarized by my embassy, saying Mr So and So is retired? I don't get a pension. I get "passive" Internet income.

Thanks.

For a Non-O Visa based on retirement from a consulate abroad, that embassy-notarized statement plus 800K in a bank somewhere should work, in theory.

(Edit: Just saw UJ's response - looks like this works.)

If you have passive-income, I would suggest your embassy letter (Thai-branch or branch in country where applying) show the amount of income, even with bank-funds of the full 800K.  I would also bring along foreign or Thai bank-statements showing the deposits.  Overkill is best.

If doing a combo, you'd need an embassy letter showing income plus a bank-statement showing the "money in the bank" amount.  Again, I would bring secondary documentation, in case they need more evidence.

This is somewhat experimental, due to a lack of multiple reports on Non-O for retirement - especially the ME variety - unlike the "married to a thai" Non-O reports, which we have in abundance.

Quick question on that, please. How about if I were to show most recent few months of 65k+ income in a Thai bank and tried to get a brand new Type O, based on retirement? Would this work at Savannakhet? I'm looking for alternatives in case I miss a month of income this year (retirement, income method, American).

No, a Thai bank statement substitutes neither for an income letter from your embassy, nor certificate of retirement.

Would it be the same in Vientiane as they sometimes seem to have different rules in some other visa types etc? I mean the part need to prove with a document that I am retired?

I try to read the website for Vientiane embassy but can't figure out anything helpful

Vientiane does ask for proof you are retired but they want a police clearance and a medical certificate.

What they want for a single entry non-o visa is the same as is shown for a OA visa here.

You have to make an appointment to apply in Vientiane. Site for appointments. https://thaivisavientiane.com/#

Hey guys, I had a marriage-based multiple entry Non-O from Savannakhet before and when entering Thailand, they stamp one in 90 days initially.

Now I may need to go get another spouse visa if I can't kick through my WP application during the 60 day spouse visit extension of my Non-B entry from last year. This time I'm looking for a single entry one? Do they issue that at Savannakhet or do they specialize only on multiple entry ones?

Can you please confirm if they stamp you in for 90 days with the single entry Non-O as well? This would mean that I will have 3 months to provide proof of 40k+ salary, correct? Which will be the case because I will be able to start work as soon as WP is issued on the back of the Non-O. Pretty much about two weeks after entry... Thanks!

No problem getting a single entry Non O in Savannakhet.

Yes, you receive an initial 90-day permission to stay, and could of course if necessary get the 60-day extension on that.

Your plan seems sound.

I had 7 back to back there, no problem, even at border.
Dress up ok, be polite, that's all.

Ive got 2 previous non imm o multi visas based on marriage in pp. Currently on retirement extension ending 29th June. Can I leave before or on 29th June, without a reentry permit, and apply for a fresh non o based on marriage at savannakhet?
