THAI Smile wins 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers' choice award for airlines

THAI Smile Airways announced it has been recognised as a winner in the 2019 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice® awards for Airlines, named the best airline in Thailand and one of the best regional airlines in Asia, according to the airline's press release.

 

TripAdvisor has awarded the world’s carriers based on the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for airlines by TripAdvisor flyers, gathered over a 12-month period.

 

Charita Leelayudth, Acting Chief Executive Officer of THAI Smile Airways, revealed that the prize from 2019 TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Awards has reflected the airline’s readiness to compete in the region and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees, and the heartfelt service which is at the centre of the organization.

I was told by someone from Cathay last week that all Thai airlines had been downgraded again on the safety scale and they were advised not to fly on them. No idea if there is any truth to that, have not read amything but not sure why he would lie.

Well the reality is, mentioned many times before, that the rankings / ratings issued by this agency are often way less than credible.

 

Hotels and restaurants can pay a fee to have fake positive reviews posted on the site of this agency, and they have admitted it's true.

 

So draw your own conclusions.

I guess that pretty much tells you everything you need to know...about the state of commercial air carriers based in Thailand.  It must be tough beating out Thai Air and Nok Air....

 

Or, I wonder, perhaps the ballot boxes got stuffed in this election also???

There was some news about this a couple weeks ago, but it was couched in such a way as to be vary opaque about just what was occurring...

I guess that was the ThaiPBS's sly way of saying they got dumped out of Category One, without actually coming right out and saying it directly.
