Featured Replies

Due to the cheap Airfares of Air Asia, I would like to know, if there is a Restroom at the Airport in Kuala Lumpur - to spend some waiting Hours for a connecting Flight.

Thanks in Advance

but not at the extremely chaotic low-budget terminal (opened just one year ago, but already over its capacity), where AirAsia departs.

though, u r right with the cheap fares..... they have a 439-Baht one-way-deal to BKK at the time of writing this, to be had for departures from around 20th of March until end of April , (even during SONGKHRAN !!!) .... has not been advertised anywhere, as far as I know, but its reality..... so I already booked my 439-Baht ESCAPE FROM SONGKHRAN ANARCHY ticket 2 days ago.....

Hello KL, here I come again :-)

Correct Thailiban, the LCCT is chaotic and is the reason I'll not be flying AirAsia out of KL again.

MaaTini, You don't say which way you are passing through KUL. Doesn't really matter, if it's all AirAsia you'll arrive at the LCCT and it's just a matter of following transit instructions. If you are arriving with another airline then chances are you'll arrive at KLIA main terminal and will have to use the transfer bus to LCCT.

The LCCT has a reasonable range of eateries before you pass through immigration to the gates. Then there is a shop selling airport range of mags, books etc and a limited coffee shop and nothing else. So my advice is if you feel a little peckish eat before passing through to the gate area. There is no bar at LCCT at all.

There is only one gate area with cheap plastic seating. Flights are announced but sometimes it's difficult to make out the instructions. Then you just queue up and get on after a short walk around the apron (don't know what happens if it's raining - been lucky so far). It's worth remembering that they usually use two gates (doors) for the flight. Say you are gate T4, they will also announce that senior citizens (>55y.o.), pregnant women, people travelling with small childeren, or with disabilities may board first via gate T5 (or T3). So if you fit any of those categories you can jump the queue a bit.

The above is based on international departures but I assume domestic is same or similar.

AirAsia is a fine airline and if it wasn't for the LCCT I'd use them for all depatures from KUL. The food on the plane is average crap so I'd advise eat before the flight.

Happy flying. :o
