BANGKOK, 11 April 2019 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has observed the preparedness of Mo Chit bus terminal in Bangkok to accommodate high travels during Songkran holidays, ensuring maximum safety and stressing alcohol-free driving policy.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday led government officials to observe operations of the Transport Company and met passengers travelling back to their hometown during Songkran holidays at Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2).

He visited the GPS center which monitors the speed of operating buses ensuring the limit, track the bus route, and check the operation of drivers. He then visited platform 112-113 inside the terminal to watch the demonstration of alcohol level testing devices, and meet with passengers on the bus bound for Mae Sot.

The Prime Minister said he wished all passengers a safe journey home, and asked for the royal grace of His Majesty the King to protect all passengers. He encouraged all to help minimize road accidents this Songkran holidays as homage to His Majesty during the period of the royal coronation ceremonies.

He urged drivers to treat all passengers like members of their families, and to always be cautious while operating, and to refrain from drinking alcohol. Drivers must be especially careful to prevent accidents which should result in legal prosecution, while motorcycle drivers must always wear helmets, and car users must fasten seatbelts for their own safety. He also expressed concerns for pick up trucks carrying passengers in the back which can be dangerous.

The Prime Minister thanked all officials and staff for their work during the holidays for the safety of people, especially in the south and border areas, adding that the general public should appreciate their efforts.

I was hoping someone would give him a free ticket for a night ride on a rainy day.

I imagine his escorts motorcycles, vans and all caused a traffic jam at the terminal. Thank you so much

He urged and he asked, but he did sweet FA as usual.  Just another photo op.

The law was never rescinded, it was just never enforced because the populace know more about road safety then the people who enacted the law!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Asking for observance of the law at the departure terminal is not the problem !
