Thai Rath reported that eleven guns had been stolen from a mail room on the third floor of Thong Lo police station in downtown Bangkok.

It is believed to be an inside job following an investigation set up by the station chief into irregular activities regarding envelopes and parcels and bail money.

Station chief and Region 5 chief Pol Col Chanin Wachirapaneekun had ordered an investigation into the mail room on 29th March, said Thai Rath.

But as that was being carried out a metal cabinet was found forced open in Room 302 on the third floor on Thursday.

A police captain reported that eleven guns had gone missing - one Taurus, eight Smith and Wesson and 2 Sig Sauers.

There is no CCTV in the room.

Thai Rath said that sources suggested it was an inside job and mentioned that one former officer at the station is being sought in connection with the matter.

They reported that station chief Chanin was furious at the goings on.

The "mistake" was that none of the contents of these envelopes and parcels, was chared with the top dog.

If it wasn't then everyone should be even more concerned about the uselessness of the police farce than is already normal.

Thanks for the comedy news report.

The station chief will be gunning for some one.

It is claimed that 11 weapons are missing. Were they there in the first place or just an inflated inventory to justify an inflated purchase invoice ?  Good job the Key Stone cops are on to this.

ha ha, no he wont, they aint got any..

It doesn't say much about the police when they talk openly about "envelopes" disappearing.

Guns too, although police having guns is legitimate. Great (inept) security.

Hard to believe weapons would be stored in a metal cabinet instead of a safe

The next week they will be busy to check footage of the entrance CCTV if any foreigner left the building with a big parcel...

So you think it’s a inside job lol TIT

Yet everyone on this forum would expect nothing less from the BiB.   I think I can safely say that we are surprised he is surprised.

Tut tut.

Time to get a cap that fits, Mr Policeman !!

Unbelievable that there is so little control on police firearms.

Might need the mafia to cleanup the police force

Seems there is no shortage of bent cops at Thong Lo Police Station. In November last year two crooked Thong Lo police officers were suspended for trying to shakedown a Hong Kong tourist. The Thong Lo cops have a bad reputation and not without good reason it seems.

Difficult to imagine? A civilian must have squirrelled up a drainpipe, all 3 floors, and spirited the pistols away!

Shouldn't they all have been Sig Sauer P320's ?

I once owned a hotel on Thon Lor- was extorted by the police- one of the most corrupt areas in the city in my opinion
