Really just for information. This morning I applied for retirement visa extension at Jomtien based on Thb 800 k in the bank. No problems, in and out in 15 minutes ( Bank letter took longer). The IO whilst processing the papers gave me a slip of paper which she asked me to sign , saying that I would need to come back in 90 days with an updated passbook to confirm that the funds were still available at that time. This I understand is now common practice at Jomtien. I asked the question " what if I'm not in Thailand at that date?". The answer was don't worry, just come in as soon as your back in Thailand. Thought that was a practical approach to what must be a common issue.

anyway, just posting for information.
