Citibank Thailand / Retirement Extension funds

Featured Replies

I have just been told that CW no longer accepts Citibank Thailand accounts for B800,000 3 month deposits.

An officer informed a friend -who was applying for 2nd time extension that CW will only accept "Thai" bank accounts

and that this rule has been in place since March 29, 2019.

Does anyone have information on this "new" rule.

I am sure Citibank is still a bank registered here that means it is considered a Thai bank.

Sound like nonsense to me.

Citibank Thailand is the Thai section of the Citigroup financial services group, established in 1985.

Citi started operations in Thailand as early as 1967, when it began with a 50% equity stake in the Bangkok First Investment Trust. In 1989 the First National City Finance was initiated. Later in 1984, Citibank Thailand obtained a full banking licence when it acquired the Mercantile Bank. On November 1, 1985, Citibank was formally registered in Thailand.

Using Citibank Asoke for proof of funds for 3 years, no problems so far.   + great customer service in english ???? .
