My brother asked me how easy it was to find a job in Singapore. Since I am Thailand based and since I have never been to Singapore myself, I told him that I'd ask over here and see if anyone with some Singapore experience is kind enough to reply. He's got a diploma in administration but doesn't mind doing anything that could be enough to pay his bills. He plans to stay in singapore for a little over one year. And yes, he's well aware that Singapore can be a boring place. Any input? Thanks

Hi work in Singapore and was employed here from overseas. I was in a strange position as i was consulting to the company overseas but now am employed by them in Singapore so the whole thing was smooth.

I think you basically have to be brought into the country and for a farang its at EP level. Do not quote me on this though but I do not know anybody who just turned up and looked for a job but there is a system for graduates for that I believe now. However this will be in shortage subjects I think and you have to remember the number of Singapore graduates and post-grad's ie higher than a Diploma

The Employment Pass / Work Permit stuff is here

PS: Singapore is far from boring and going out here is keeping me away from Thailand as much as before then there are all the other countries to visit close by.
