I have non-o multi entry visa based on marriage to a Thai wife which runs out at then end of May.

As we didn't know whether we were going to stay I have not put the 400k in a Thai bank account for the required two months.

Can I put the money in the bank now, leave before my visa runs out, get another 90 days on my return and then apply for an extension for another year at my local immigration in Samut Prakan or do I need to get another multi from a neighbouring country and then apply?

What happens when I apply to get the 1 year extension???

Bit confused ????

You can leave and reenter the country to get a new 90 day entry on or before you the day your visa expires and then during the last 30 days of the 90 days apply for a extension of stay based upon marriage.

The 400k baht will need to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply for the extension.

Many thanks.

And what exactly is the process at my local immigration? What documents do I need to show them?

It varies from office to office. Your wife has to be with you when you apply to complete a statement both of you will sign. After the extension is accepted you will get a under consideration stamp with a report back date 30 days from when you applied or at some offices 30 days from the end of your current permit to stay.

Here is my list of required documents and etc. Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf

I assume in another years time we just go back to immigration and complete the whole process again? So no need to leave the country and get a "non o" again? (Sorry, if I seem a bit thick)

And this gives me 90 days and I then "sign on" at immigration at Samut Prakan?

Once again many thanks :wai:

If you did not do your extension this year you would have to start all over again next year.

If you get the extension you could get a re-entry permit to keep it valid when your return and then change you address to Samut Prakan to apply for a new there.

If needed you could bet a non-o visa based upon marriage while in the states to use to apply for a new extension.

I have had numourous marriage extensions but this year a little as changed. My wife and i now live in a apartment {we lost the house} and to my knowledge my wife as no Tabian bahn. She could go on her families but that is in another province, does that matter ? or could she go on a friends in Surin.

What paperwork do i need of the owners of the apartment ?. Could anybody please list 2019 requirements.

Thanks for any help.

She has to be registered in a tambien ban. It can be for any province. It does not have to be for where you are living.

You will need a rental agreement and signed copies of the owners house book and ID card.

Hi - I've have been reading on various law sites that the visa has to still be "in date"?

My Visa ends on the 30th May and I am stamped in until 24th July, is this ok?

I put the 400k in the bank a couple of weeks ago so I should just about have enough time to do it??? (Sorry for still being thick)

No problem.

Once you are in the country your visas expiration date means nothing since it only the last day you can use it to enter the country.

You can apply for the extension on the day the 400k baht has been in the bank for 2 months. You will have plenty of time to do it,
