I am married to a thai citizen (female)

My question is

In order to get an 1 year exstention for my type O visa im required to have 40000 baht income per month.

If my father deposits 40000 baht (of my money of course) into my UK or THAI bank account every month can this be classed as income??

How can my embassy say this is not a income? for all they know my dad might just want to support me.

Immigration will require a letter from the Embassy certifying an income.

The way the UK Embassy dealswith these letters is to ask you to provide some original papers to proof the income.

From then on they giev you the required letter.

immigration will then approve the extension based on the Embassy letetr and sometimes require to see the original supporting documents.

It thus comes down to the Embassy's willingness to issue you with the letter based on regular credits to your bank account.

I think they will want to see some letter of employer or some pay slips or other more 'serious' evidence but it might work with a letter from your father certifying that he is 'paying' you 40.000 baht a month.....

The US Embassy only asks you to fill in a form and swear that the info is true....

Does you father have a company?

Ask him to use the company notepaper to confirm his payments to you.

Your father can be a sole trader - ie have letter headed with My Dads Company trading as dads name

alternatively - from another thread it seems to say that is you have a need for a letter from the US Embassy to potentially use in the US, then they will provide - this letter may be ok to get the visa.

You can set up UK ltd co's for around £25 (an off the shelf, formerlly trading Co) and get a co bank account - from this you transfer money to your thai account - and have your dad as the managind director or the company - once you have the letter, you can dissolve the company or make it dormant till you need it again.

Alternatively, you could come to an arragement with a UK company to transfer the money to you - say a currency broker - and they may issue the letter you need (if the uk embassy bkk need a letter that is...)

Or if you now the right bonds, shares to buy yiou can get dividends each month which would be in the name of the company you have an interest in, so this would be income through investment - kind as the same as having an annuity - but of course it means having the capital to invest with the required monthly income...

Good advice, I have a freind who has started a business recently, i guess i can ask him to write the letter and state he is my employer.

Does the money have to be transfered to a Thai bank or UK bank in my name? Do you need to show bank statements or just a letter from my employer to the UK embassy for the letter certifiying income?

In my case I provide eth UK Embassy with a letter from the employer stating salary, employment period, name, passort number, etc.

Also copies of a bank book with salaries entries matching the company name (regular monthly payments) but not the original bank book. The account is not held in Thailand. I also provided a copy of my tax return form for the previous year (not Thailand)

I think the Embassy is pretty flexibleas to what you provide as long as it looks genuine and it looks original.

Don't forget that the Embassy's letter wording does not 'guarantee' in any way the statement but only certify what you have told them....

But it is accepted and required by Immigration
