Never had a problem if wanting to remit money out of Thailand to a third party, simply fill out the forms at the bank and it gets done.

Just gone on to (Bualuang) BB online banking, tried to add an international 3rd party for transfers and a notice comes up asking for work permit details, retired 17 years so don't have that, why would they be asking and is there a solution?

Going to BB on Friday anyway but just thought I would ask.

Thanks

To do international transfers online with BBL, you still need to have the paperwork in place first.

Online banking does well for large volume, standard transactions. So they ask for the most obvious, simple, documents rather than all the possible permutations. i.e minimum info to facilitate maximum transactions.

Bangkok Bank told me this morning that online banking for remitting funds overseas is not available unless you have a work permit and then the remittance amount can only be equivalent to the monthly income.

However, no problem transferring larger amounts by simply doing it in person at a branch!
