Farang, experienced in doing business in Thailand, seeks interesting new opportunities. I have just sold my shares in a Thai private limited company and I am looking for a new business to get involved in.

I would prefer an established, small private limited company that is seeking investment to expand to the next level. I can be hands-on or hands-off.

I would require full financial statements of the company and a comprehensive business plan, which I would have checked by an independent auditor.

No bars, restaurants, MLM or network marketing please. Only strictly legal businesses should respond.

Please post a reply to this topic thread in the first instance.

Many thanks.

It never ceases to amaze me how everyone looking to invest in Thailand who advertises on this forum fails to mention how much capital they ar ewilling to commit and for what period of time.

I'm not being critical of people's solicitations to invest in viable private businesses, just could we please have a bit more transparency from the ''investors'' in future as regards their outlook. I am a broker myself and these kind of requirements would be pre-requisite before I even considered discussing possible private equity opportunities with a potential client.

So lets start with this thread, then, and make the process a standard.

Kanbur1,

1. How much capital can you commit and for what period of time?

2. Are you able to 'resubscribe' (i.e. invest further) for equity in the business at a later date should the situation demand it? If so, at what level (how much could you put in)?

3. Do you plan to involve other investors (friends, associates etc) in the investment process or are you trading solely principle?

How much an investor can commit and for what length of time, and whether they can re-invest at subsequent dates and at what levels are KEY QUESTIONS anyone here should be asking first before posting their businesses out on bulliten boards.
