Kenyan government observes housing estate project in Bangkok

BANGKOK, 10 May 2019 (NNT) - High ranking executives from the Kenyan government have been in Bangkok to observe the development of the Baan Pracharat housing project beside Khlong Lat Phrao canal in the capital, to gather practical information to benefit housing development projects in 18 cities in Kenya.

 

The Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI) Assistant Director Thanat Nareupornpong, brought the executives and officials from Kenya’s parliament and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development, to observe the development of the Khlong Lat Phrao housing estate project, starting with a boat trip from Chai Khlong Bang Bua Community in Bangkok’s Lak Si district along an 8-kilometer section of Khlong Lat Phrao canal to the community behind Rajabhat Chankasem University, exchanging experiences and information on housing development.

 

The Thai government has been promoting access to housing for Thai people, and promoting a suitable environment for a good quality of life. The housing development project at Khlong Lat Phrao canal now has 2,083 occupied residences, with 747 households waiting for the construction of their houses to be completed, and 306 families waiting for the construction of their new homes to begin. The project currently has 3,136 housing units either occupied or nearing completion, with an ultimate goal of 7,069 domestic units.

Surely Kenyans can build substandard housing that will soon be developing faults, be poorly maintained leading to looking like another slum without the expert Thai help ????

Maybe they are wondering how so many Thai government officials became Billionaires.

Prawit is probably already planning a visit of 40 officials to the Sahel Zone to observe its successful flood prevention measures.

Maybe the Kenyan officials just came to visit their streetworking relatives on soi 1/2/3/4

These people are even too cheap to have  copies and forms at the office next door prepared for a couple of 100 Baht if they are too dumb to do it themselves. Easy to manage with 1 or 2 big IO at the entrance, ready to decline access or escort some of the morons out. Never seen a collection of people who expect a service in Gov. Office like in Pattaya. Even the smells are often horrific. These officers are very patient and tolerant. MS>

What does this have to do with the topic in hand? Are you sure you're on the right TV thread?

i don't know how development of the Khlong Lat Phrao housing estate project looks, but thailand, let alone bkk, is certainly not the land i'd visit as to learn how to build viable and sustainable housing

How about sending in the Nigerian Economic Developpment Board to Thailand, to observe the rapid business ventures of their nationals in the kingdom!!

I once worked with a Kenyan woman here. It seems she thought her job was getting the job. After that nothing else was required on her part. Poor kids.
