Anyone tried Skrill? Would I be right in saying they are similar to Transferwise? I have had very bad experiences with Transferwise.

They don't always answer your emails, My funds transfer took one full week to go from the UK to Thailand because they put me

on a borderless account without asking me.

 

So I wonder if Skrill would be a better alternative.

Try Xendpay.  Good rates and very reliable.  First £2000 transferred per annum is free (if you elect).  

Skrill isn't up there with the best so best to avoid when there's much cheaper options on the table.  

 

I transferred a small sum last Tuesday lunchtime and it was in my Bangkok Bank account by Wednesday lunchtime.  Really worth a look.

 

Edit:  I should add that Xendpay are great for moderate amounts.  Larger amounts should be investigated.
