Great first post.

Try;

  1. regular sleep
  2. regular exercise
  3. adequate nutrition.
  4. avoiding the flickering screen of the computer.
  5. ensure the correct medication is taken at the appropriate time.
  6. smile more often.
  7. talk with real people.

Chang_paarp: Great words of wisdom. I manage to do 4 from your list of 7. It's these 3 which I have trouble doing:

Avoiding the flickering screen of the computer.

Ensure the correct medication is taken at the appropriate time.

Talk with real people.

Maybe it's time to face reality! Little steps, little steps ...

Seriously, harrisonsm, go see a Doctor. You could be anaemic, have low blood sugar or anything. My guess is you are a new arrival in Thailand and hasn't realised he is dehydrated.

Coming from Mur-bah the medication is important, you need to keep up with the neighbours. :o

As to real people they are the ones that are almost the same as you, not the brightly coloured ones. Make sure they are from the shadow of Mt Warning rather from a different planet. :D

If you are sleeping normally (ie regular sleep patter, and getting at least 6 hours of sleep a night) but still feel tired all the time, then go see your doctor and get a check up.

Tired or fatigue..Not the same!

Tired is when you work hard or play hard, come home and, go to sleep wake up feeling O. K. This is absolutely normal. All the posts, to date are great, but their are many people, And they know who they are, this won't really help much.

Being Fatigued is, no matter how long you sleep, or how many vitamins you take you walk around TIRED/FATIGUED. You wake up tired, You may have a few hours where you fell O.K. Then the fatigue sets in. You don't want to do all the things that you loved to do. You shy away from people, feel guilty that you are not doing all the things you want to do.

Things to check...Depression, don't scoff this because depression can be caused by many things, some seeming minor. I would say that of all the things I have, depression and anxiety is the worst. The medication they use does nothing but allow the brain to produce the chemicals the body needs to feel good. (Not that kind of Feel Good) The stigma connected to depression and such keep many people from going to the Doctor.. Don't waste years when maybe something can be done..

In Thailand you should drink even when you're not thirsty, because when you do feel thirsty this is already an early indication of dehydration.

If the physical specs are OK, then it might just be depression, doesn't have to be a huge one to make tired all the time.

Mine normally comes with cabin fever, I'm retired so I have lots of time, seldom drink or go to bars. What works for me is bike riding, or bowling. Something different that gets me out of the house and around people that I can share a activity with.

What would work for you depends on what you want to break out of the routine.

Motorcycles seems to work best for me, simply because it requires my full attention and my mind does not " Tink to Much" Whatever works for you.

Good Luck

Well, seeing as how it seems to be ok to put up completely asinine posts these days, I'll join in:

Help. I feel hungry this morning, I don't know why? I feel this is a good place to talk about my problem. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Sounds like aloofness to me, probably if you came back down here to earth with the rest of us, you might find breakfast somewhere :o:D:D

I agree with what a couple of earlier posters said about depression. I was diagnosed with symptoms of depression about ten years ago, and now take anti-depressants. I sleep much better. When I do not take the anti-depressant, my wife tells me that I sleep very restlessly.

It is possible that you sleep restlessly without knowing it. Check with your partner, if you have a regular one. Otherwise, definitely see a doctor. Might even be worth trying a sleep clinic, if they have one at Bamrungrad or somewhere.

The same psychological problems you have had elsewhere, may finally have caught up with you, now that the novelty of Thailand has worn off.

This may be cause you to have a spiritual malaise you cannot name or pinpoint.

This may mean you should go to another country. The excitement of deciphering a new country may re-energize you.

It may be that the self-centered life of leisure does not really satisfy your soul.

Thailand has a way of seducing people into thinking that their sex culture is all that is needed to satisfy a person. But that is not always enough.

It can turn you into a human cow just satisfying simple physical pleasures.

You may have big dreams that are suppressed but still yearning for fulfillment.

If you need further lifestyle counseling, feel free to pm me.

Lack of salt maybe the problem, when people move here from cold climates where you don't sweat as much they often do not adjust their salt intake for the new climate, in Thailand you sweat a lot - sweating out most of your salts. If you don't have fish sauce with your Thai food then you need to make sure you are getting enough salt from elsewhere.

Assuming that harrisonM is not a troll (I notice he or she hasn't responded to any comments, including those from the wags, since first post), he hasn't offered much information on his age, state of mental or physical health or his milieu. Since he's obviously not spending much time surfing TV I suggest some quality sleep might be the simple answer. Hope we're not all posting to thin air here.

While depression and fatigue are a possibility, it is absolutely essential that you drink lots of water and replace the salts while out here even if it were one of those things. Best to drastically up the water intake first and a couple of sachets of Dechamp a day and then see how you go. Constant heat and humidity makes one lethargic, even without the beer, as does lack of exercise. :D
