Mother, son killed by drunk driver in Chachoengsao

A 23-year-old Chachoengsao man who was planning to enter the monkhood next month was killed alongside his mother early Friday morning, the victims of a drink driver.

Pat Sappoung was crossing a road in Muang district at 1am with his mother Karaked, 49, and father Sunthorn, 50, who have the same surname, after attending a charity concert at the Rong Beer Paed Riew restaurant.

A speeding Toyota pickup struck them, then a parked sedan before coming to rest against a power pole on the footpath. Mother and son were killed and father seriously hurt.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was reportedly intoxicated and also suffered injury.

No problems for the nameless one as he must be connected, 2 sorry's, 2 wai's and on your way.

This should be viewed as manslaughter and the driver jailed for a minimum of 5 years. The sad reality is that as per usual they will probably walk away with nothing more than a gentle slap on the wrist. And because of this all and sundry will continue to get raving drunk and then drive home. Come on Thailand, you have to wake up and smell the coffee if you want any kind of improvement in road safety.

Minutes I'd  say, actually  no that's  unfair, he probably think he has done  nothing wrong so nothing to forget.

May he rot in hell, even as an atheist, there should be something similar to hell.

Or in other words: "what will happen when you marry a Thai lady?"

The torture never stops. Even when you've got the best possible movie on earth. That crap is simply better.

I do believe it's very important to mention. Once the decision is made, there are so many things to prepare. Sons then experience something that could help them a lot if they use the time for meditation, etc...

Having time for yourself can be very efficient for people who're totally under stress, or very beneficial to people who just don't know what do do with their lives.

That his life was taken by a drunk cab driver who'll then go to another monk to make merit ( or not) is insane.

It's a sort of ironic that he wanted to become a monk. Where's god when you need him?

Hey! Pull yer neck in! This was not HIS fault!

Car wouldn't drive straight. The beer made him drive badly. The light was all wrong. Car pulling to the left all by itself. Insufficient air in the tyre. They didn't look before he moWed them down!

Pick one. But it certainly wasn't HIS fault! Because admitting that would be a huge, massive loss of facำใ

There is  no  god, thats where he is-n't, I still  say its  irrelevant because "anyone" can become  a monk, now if they had said  fully  qualified brain surgeon, not many people can do that although it doesnt lessen the death its  almost  like saying he was a man/woman.

One can hope for serious injuries.
