rooster59 Posted June 16, 2019 Share Posted June 16, 2019 BMA, Marine Department launch a Bang Wa - Tha Chang ferry service on Monday, June 17 tewit kemtong BANGKOK, 15 June 2019(NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Marine Department are starting a passenger boat service on Monday, June 17, on a trial run between Bang Wa (Khlong Phasi Charoen) and Tha Chang (Chao Phraya River), Deputy Government Spokesman Lt. Gen. Werachon Sukondhapatipak announced today. The boat trips, viewed as an alternative means of travel for daily commuters, is free of charge during the six-months trial run. The new boat service is being provided under a policy initiative of Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, the deputy government spokesman said. Four boat routes are currently not being serviced by private firms. They include the route between Bang Wa pier and Tha Chang pier; the route between Hua Lampong pier and Devarajakunchorn temple pier; the route between Sri Boonruang temple pier and Paseo pier, and the route between Bang Wa pier and Kamphaeng temple pier. The deputy government spokesman said the new ferry route starts from Bang Wa pier near the BTS Bang Wa station, runs along Phasi Charoen canal, Bangkok Yai canal and into Chao Phraya River. The boat stops at four piers, namely Intharam temple pier, Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge pier, Rajini pier and Tha Chang pier.
