The Appeal Court is set to hear the case of a 24-year-old woman who was sentenced to 164 years imprisonment in connection with killings and robbery offences on Friday.

 

 

Khieu Tola, the defence lawyer provided by the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC) to represent the convict, told The Post on Thursday that the Appeal Court is scheduled to hear Pech Sonet’s case on 26 July.

 

 

“Sonet was involved in nine cases of robberies and killings. But of the nine cases, she was sentenced to 20 years in jail for one, while in the eight other cases, she was sentenced to 18 years in jail for each,” he said.

well, to be honest if they run one after the other saving 16 years off  164 years sentence means very little !

I would insist that I serve the full term otherwise I would sue....
