back to back O immigrant visa

Featured Replies

will I have any problems getting a back to back O immigration visa at Vientiane ?.

here's my dilemma, I have a O immigrant visa based on retirement due to expiry in sept.

I went to Pathum Thani from a extension based on marriage and was turned down  ( very long story I have made a topic on my issues ).

Pathum Thani IO said I need to leave Thailand to cancel out my current O immigrant visa based on retirement and get a fresh new O immigrant visa based

on marriage because I already have a O immigrant stamp in my passport .

I have booked a appointment with Vientiane on 22nd of this month

Mu question is will I have any trouble or problems with the Vientiane consulate issuing me with a new O immigrant visa based marriage ?

I have all the correct documents and paperwork with over 400k in my BBL account.

  • Copies of my passport
  • Copies of my marriage certificate (2 and 3)
  • Original marriage certificate
  • Signed copies of your wife's ID card. tabian baan and passport

I can not see that you will have any problems with that. If they ask you, then you have a good explaination that you think it´s better to change to marriage extension later instead of retirement.

If you have any problems you could enter visa exempt and do "conversion" to non o at immigration.

From your previous thread I was under the impression you originally entered Thailand on a 30 visa exempt then arranged (via an agent in Pattaya) to extend that and you received an extra 15 months, which expires in September.

The agent didn't get a you 15 month non O visa in Pattaya, what he did was get a 90 day NON O VISA followed by a one year EXTENSION OF STAY based on retirement.

Most of us stay long term in Thailand by annually renewing our extension of stay. To qualify for an extension we must initially apply with a valid non O VISA and then continually renew the permission to stay with annual extensions. That's why the agent got your 90 day non O first then acquiring your one year extension.

Your actual 90 day VISA expired after those 90 days but you were allowed to remain in Thailand by virtue of being issued with that one year extension of stay. Normally you would just renew your extension but, because there was an anomaly with the Pattaya extension, Pathom Thani wouldn't let you renew it. They have allowed it to run its course but have said you must now exit Thailand to get a new non O visa and start the process again.

So, at the moment you don't have a valid visa and your extension will expire when you exit Thailand. You won't have any problem obtaining another nonO VISA from a neighbouring country (Laos?).

My wife been on the phone to the agent this morning, she wipe the floor with him, she told him he's a con artist, fraud... he said if I have problems with Pathum Thani immigration for us to give him a shout and he can sort my extension out. Lol

No  problem to get the single entry non-o visa there. They will ask no questions as to why you want one.

I was there last week for a non O. Just make sure you can show the money in the bank.

A bank letter couldn't hurt, it's only 100 baht.
