I am changing my job and have a work permit and TL and non imm B. I know that the WP and TL will be cancelled and then I have 7 days to do something. I would like to know as I am moving from one school to another if I have to leave to get a new imm B visa for my new school. I have changed school once in 3 years but that time did not have to leave the country to Laos or somewhere. Your help would be great as my new school which is not in Bangkok where I am now seem to think I have to leave to Laos or somewhere else. Thank you.

I am not sure of the answer with a Non Imm B but when I did this with an Non Imm O last year, the immigration office just gave me a stamp in the passport for 30 days and labelled it 'visa extension under consideration' or words to that effect. This enabled me to have some time to chase down the paperwork from my new employer so that I could continue to stay and work here. I have never 'not once' had to leave Thailand in 2.5 years and continue to still be here on that original non imm O. Maybe you can do the same on the B, but I am not sure.
