My Thai Police Clearance was not enough to apply for a Non B as a teacher in Penang

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just went to the Thai Consulate in Penang to apply for a Non-B

for a teacher, but my application was turned down simply because

they told me that I must also submit the police clearance from the

country that issued my passport. I'm from a G7 country.

Have you ever heard of that report before?

I have some questions now.

1) Do you have to submit both a Thai police clearance and one from

your home country to apply for a Non-B in Vientiane or Savannakhet?

Or would a Thai police clearance be enough for one there?

2) How long will it take you to be able to go apply for one there after

you've booked an appointment? A few weeks?

3) Don't you have to book an appointment with the Thai consulate in

Savannakhet for one?

Thank you in advance.

Penang has been wanting a police clearance from you home country for some time now.

1. They will accept a Thai police clearance certificate. No need for one from your home country.

2. Only Vientiane has an appointment requirement. For a non immigrant visa application appointments are normally available within a week, See: https://thaivisavientiane.com/#

3. Not needed.

If you've only lived here for a short period of time, understandable.

They';re usually okay when you submit the Thai Police Clearance in Savannakhet, you should have read the negative posts about Penang before you decided to go there.

You do NOT need an appointment in Savannakhet!

No, only in Vientiane.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Thank you for your info.

If you already cancelled your residency in your home country, you will not receive any police clearance from there

In many countries it is not possible to cancel your residence since there is no records of it.

Many countries in Schengen like Germany you usually have it
