BTW, the German authorities demand about 8 Apostilles and eve more than a birth certificate to issue adocument stating one is fit to marry. The U.S. bride needs HIV + Syphilis + a red pock test etc. - How come that in Canada, all it takes is a passport and 1 day? **It's a shame sice a wedding in Thailand would have been better than flying to Vancouver BC...

Thank you for your recommendation!

A guy posted this on another board recently

"I use Maharaja Tailor, between sois 4&5 Beach Rd. They are one of the oldest tailors in Pattaya. They WILL make you a suit in 24 hours if you insist, but prefer to take two or three fittings over it until they are satisfied that's it's OK.

Wide range of materials to choose from and either take a picture of how you want it made, describe it to them,or select from a number of catalogues they have to choose the style.

They will not be the cheapest, but anything you buy will last. They always provide you with free drinks-whisky or beer whilst you are being measured, fitted or merely just chatted to.

No hesitation in recommending them. I shall be visiting them on my trip in the next few weeks"

I have a guy from Nepal who does most of the american Navy when there over, hes located just as you turn into 2nd road on the right 3 doors up as you turn in from Pattaya Thai. remember this though 95% of these taylors all use Thai people to sew up the sh*t in a back room somewhere. :o

This is normal all over the world.

The tailor you choose and trust will do the measuring and cutting of the jacket. Some will even make up the jacket. But trousers are always farmed out to jobbing tailors who specialise in this.

Many years back, when I had to look good, I spent a fortune on suits - all Dormeuil Tonic or similar, and had them mede up by a friend of mine. (We had previously run a cutting-shop together, but that's another long story).

This practice isn't 'sharp' practice, but 'normal' practice.
