getting o visa in england

Featured Replies

my mate has been using an o visa for years and now he cant get one. he usually stays in thailand for 5 months doing a border run after 3 months. he says they have stopped doing them in england. any ideas

Fly in on visa exempt gives 30 days and no stupid hassle dealing with the Thai embassy in London and their idiotic online visa application.

From there, after 30 days, go to a neighbouring country and get a tourist visa and then extend it. That makes 120 days. From there.....follow the news.

They are selling the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) in place in the ME Non ‘O’.

It’s easy to get with the same documents as the old ME Non O.

For visiting or staying with family resided in Thailand (less than 60 days)

He will get 60 days on entry initially, and will need to make one border run during the 5 months for a second 60 day stay, Either of those stays can be extended by 30 or 60 days at immigration.

What is your question? To you want to get confirmation if they have indeed stopped issuing Non-O or nor not? From reports posted here, it looks like they are not issuing any more.

I assumed you were asking about a Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant O visa because that has been stopped.

They do still issue a Single Entry Non-Immigrant O visa. That would give your friend 90 days on entry that could be extended by 60 days at immigration once in the country, and would cover a 5 month stay.
