A decision on the reduction of rail transport fares will be finalised on September 6, Department of Rail Transport director-general Sarawut Songsivilai said on Tuesday.

 

Reduced fares could be offered either through discounted prices on monthly packages or through lower fares for off-peak-hour travel or both, he said, revealing the initial conclusion reached by a joint committee tasked with the handling of fare structures.

 

In case the off-peak-hour option is finalised, all service operators would make adjustments to their service hours, he said.
