Work permit

Featured Replies

Hello fellow TVM'S,

Forgive me if this question has come up before. I have a WP with school A and have started teaching at school B. Can I transfer my WP over to the new school.

Cheers.

Technically possible but incurs fees and quite complex in terms of the official steps which involves both schools providing a lot of documents and also giving signed guarantees, which most employers would never engage in.

Cancellation of the first and start again for next school of course possible but with full labour office WP issue fees for the new WP.

Switching of work permits when changing employers (so you don't have to leave the country)

is always complex and requires cooperation and coordination between the two employers.

In reality, forget about it.

Just cancel the old work permit, and start the process all over again.

You may need to leave the country to apply for a new Non-B (based on teaching)

No, terrible advice and a waste of money/time, you have a week(extension from immigration)  to do it, which is plenty. Just make sure your old and new employers cooperate.
