Thai immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang presided over a news conference that gave details about a gang of Chinese workers who were arrested in Pattaya at the start of this month.

Seventeen Chinese men and women were working out of three rooms at a condominium in Pornpraphanimit Road. Hundreds of computer notebooks, phones and SIM cards for daily internet use were taken into evidence.

The workers were involved in the illegal transfer of funds from Chinese gamblers through Chinese banks and the Alipay service.

A total of 2 million Yuan or about 8 million baht was moved each day.

The workers were arrested on a warrant and charged with illegal employment. They have been or are being deported and blacklisted following the raid on September 3rd.

What you expect,  rolled out the red carpet for them, no requirement to verify their income at their Embassy to obtain a letter etc etc. an open invitation to the Triads.

Maybe the police in Nongprue are worried they are moving in on their territory in which there are a number of gambling places run by them. ????
