Improved search results for ThaiVisa forum searches - A tip

Featured Replies

I think it's no secret that the search function for ThaiVisa Forums leaves a lot to be desired.  Often searches fails even when the searched keyword is in the title of a thread!  It would be nice if ThaiVisa's search function was improved, but until it is, here's an effective solution.

Many may already be aware of this but for those who are not, a much more effective search solution is to use your Google Web Browser to search in the following way:

In the web browser search bar, Enter your search keyword or key phrase or member name surrounded by hyphens, and then follow it with "thaivisa" (also in hyphens).  So a google search would look like this:  "keyword" "thaivisa".

It works great, even if the keyword / phrase / member name is buried somewhere in the body of a message, and no matter how old the message might be.

If you use a key-phrase, or multiple keywords in hyphens you can usually find exactly what you're searching for very quickly.  You can also use boolean expressions to refine your search of course, which are much more effective through Google's search engine than through ThaiVisa's search engine.

It also works through BIng Search (Microsoft's search engine), but Google seems more effective.
