Future Forward party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit said today that, if the opposition bloc wins the by-election in Constituency 5 of Nakhon Pathom on October 23rd, it will be the first domino to fall and set the stage for a change of government.

The party is fielding Mr. Pairatchote Chantharakachorn to contest the by-election, while other opposition parties, including Pheu Thai, have agreed not to field candidates to avoid splitting the vote.

Thanathorn and the other key party members have been in the constituency to campaign for Mr. Pairatchote. Thanathorn’s team of campaigners visited Samphran fresh market, Rai Khing Uah Arthorn housing estate, Sompob market and Punlarn market, and the Future Forward party leader told supporters that there will be more by-elections in Samut Prakan, Kamphaeng Phet and, probably, two constituencies in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Interestingly, the "other" parties are now showing some sense and starting to play real politics, trust they keep it up in the future for the benefit of the country.

Nothing surer than it will be money that comes out of the hat. Other people's money that is!

If popular young leader Thanathorn, was not such a high-profile Thai political figure...he would have been dealt with quickly...he threatens years of coalition building by the present regime...

Chock Dee to FFP,

Even if FF wins They will give a free seat to their party just like they did in Chiang Mai remember that

Sadly , one new bi-election MP is not equal to a half dozen or so new attack helicopters

This is what an opposition should sound like. You can be that Prayut and Toady will call for an investigation about this.

We live in hope to see that smug, wet blanket sent packing.

if anybody knows - why ffp elected MP from nakhom pathom did not take her post?

As it was already a Future Forward seat, I don't quite understand Thanathorn's logic here.

Mrs. Jumpita, however, never attended a parliamentary meeting because of her medical condition following an accident.  She eventually resigned on September 10th.

Nothing surer that the EC will counts the votes as instructed to.

Nakhon Pathom is my neck-of-the-woods.... local people are sick and tired of the present PM

This province most definitely is not a rich Bangkok, it is a rural market town, pig & chicken breeders, and large agriculture farmers who have been hit hard by him over the last five years, walk around the local markets in any area and they will say they same as will the small shop owners & roadside vendors.

The opposition parties playing on one team is a good idea... they will get the local vote .

I believe they will now go for the jugular to oust the FFP group to disband them. There is no way the current honest elected government who won fair and square will relinquish the power. There is no way and pigs will fly first as they will just use the Military under a National Security theme saying it is in the best interest for the Thai people..

I personally hope so, but with all those new helicopters, tanks and armored cars - who knows?

Er, just bull <deleted>!

Should get a bigger vote, as PTP aren't fielding a candidate and presume most of their voters last time will switch to FFP.

Then they'll claim a landslide! All smoke and mirrors to fool the plebs.

They not worried, they already have the new tanks and helicopters , made it so much easier for another coup

It's more that - like Thaksin and Yingluck - he threatens more than seven decades of the loyalist-military establishment that continues to be represented by the present regime.

It's called gathering "political momentum" to rouse a broader base of support for the Future.

No one sees a molehill but a mountain can't be ignored.

He is indirectly warning ahead of this election that the EC will again try to cheat in this by-election as they did in another Nakhon Pathom constituency by crediting the wrong votes to the Dem. He is calling out for a good voters turnout and win big to send a message to this government that their days are numbered.

But the energetic Thanathorn will be powerless against the Ultimate RESET Button called "C"

i <deleted>  well  hope so

Sadly, there is no way the militarist ruling elite will be brought down by the faux-ballot box.

That is a route that has been visibly and definitively closed to the Thai people ...
