Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has warned that a lot of people, including many farmers, would suffer if the budget bill for 2020 fiscal year is not approved by parliament within the set timeframe.

He made the impromptu remark without elaboration during his address to members of the National Council of Farmers at the Miracle Grand Hotel today (Thursday).

The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to improving the livelihood of all people of different occupations, but especially at the grassroots, to make sure that none of them are overlooked.

Many are suffering now, even though he has been in government with almost unchecked powers for 5 years.

Many of his army mates will suffer if they don't get a slice of the ever increasing military budget pie.

The budget drafted is an abomination, much like the people who are trying to task themselves with spending it (and maybe getting a little bit richer off it)

The skimmers will be the biggest sufferers!

  • Popular Post

Very hard for the opposition to debate aspects of the budget when it has a limited time frame, so the rush happens mistakes are allowed through,

unnecessary wastage happens, purchases not needed get approved,

the bullying cycle continues, people will suffer for sure,

just be truthful and say "suffer for generations".

People are suffering now, and he been since your mob illegally took over the country.

Oh no, does he mean if the budget fails people will suffer because of another coup?

And 100 billion spent on unneeded Military hardware instead of the Kingdoms citizens.

when a government this young starts resorting to threats this early, you know they are in trouble.

Those who "suffer" the most would be, the military!

Yeah I read that this morning...'Navy Mansion is not just for Navy Chief'...why build it at all? Next, the Army will want one (if they already have one they''ll want to rebuild), one for Air Force then another for the Police. I mean, why stop at the Navy? Never mind about the farmers who could do with a luxury now and then.

This "government" has been in power since May 2014.

There is nothing new about it, its budgets or policies.

What is new is an (albeit slight minority) opposition coalition in the House that is attempting to hold Prayut's government accountable for its policies and budgets. And that resistance is new to former junta-leader Prayut.

And who is to blame?

The ones voting against the bill or the ones drafting a bill not enough people can agree with?

The people warn, that if the army and Prayuth do not do something about the current tourism catastrophe facing the Thai nation, there will not be enough money to fund this proposed budget.

The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to improving the livelihood of all people of different occupations, but especially at the grassroots, to make sure that none of them are overlooked.

Never was a statement uttered by this man, that is more blatantly false, and lacking credibility. He has absolutely no concern for the average Thai, never has, and never will. He was installed to protect the elite, those in power, the police, the army, and the super wealthy. His agenda ends there. The common man and woman do not ever get taken into account. If anything, they are assured of never seeing their lives improved under this man, and his hapless and useless army. Their policies assure that. It is safe to say that the common people of this nation, do not have better lives now, than before the army came into power.

Newsflash,.... they are already suffering for decades.....

If this terrible man was serious about improving the lot for the common person, he should come and spend a week living on subsistence wages in rural Isaan. Many people live on small holdings here without electricity or piped water, scratching out an existence from what little land they own! He has no interest whatsoever in the majority of Thailand's rural population and would rather spend the country's budget on military hardware, which apart from displays on Childrens' Day, will never be used!

Those uniformed thieves with parliamentary immunity will suffer most.

Review matters by:

- privatize Thai Airways and wonders will happen on a eat-or-die modus
- cancel the submarines or invent enemies you could fight against; latter might prove difficult unless the Laotians are attacking via the Mekong
- the petty cash expenses to be screened (a navy admiral's need for a residence of B 112 million for representation purposes?) Either submarines for fighting or a well-stocked house bar to drown the enemies in Gold Label and other alien products

We will see, Thailands biggest enemy is its own people ????

What an appropriate venue for such pontifications.

Sounds like a threat to me.
