Bank of Thailand Governor Veerathai Santiprabhob(left) and Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

Bank of Thailand Governor Veerathai Santiprabhob signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on October 18 at the IMF-WBG annual meetings in Washington, DC.

The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the two central banks through exchanging views and experiences on central banking functions and policies such as monetary policy, banking supervision, payment and settlement systems, fintech innovations, cyber security as well as promoting other financial cooperation leading to further economic and financial connectivity between the two countries, according to a BOT statement issued October 21.

A close cooperation between the central bank and its Russian counterpart should help the tourism industry, because Thailand is a popular destination among Russians.

Russia and Thailand join together for cyber security??? It's a joke right?

Thailand is all about the commy countries now

Whilst the army chief rants about communists under the bed and on every street corner waiting to overrun the country, the government and financial institutions are busy signing Thailand away to the Russians and the Chinese, or have I missed something and those two countries have become liberal democracies overnight!

If you understand what he mean is the opposite of reality. For him democracy is communism and China is a model of democracy. Unfortunately for Americans, Russia and China are now seen as more stable and trustworthy than the USA. Its not like the Russian don't keep trying to work to the US. They keep calling them partner while the democrat get hysterical at every chance they have to try to prevent Trump doing anything positive with them.

No one preaches liberty better than a rich communist.
