Koh Samet

Featured Replies

I need to escape the pollution in CM for a week or two. WANT TO GO TO KOH SAMET.

5 years ago spent a few days at Koh Samet, and remember how beautiful and quiet the beaches were there. Prior to getting on the ferry was warned that at the time there were NO ATMS on the island. Ran to a near bye ATM and got a big sweaty wad of money to see me thru, but was very uncomfortable carrying large amount of cash.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE ARE NOW ATMS ON THE ISLAND??

Thanks

As i know there are 3 ATM machines there

1) 1 atm at 7-11 at Nah-daan pier

2) 2 atm at 7-11 at Haad Sai Kaew (haad = beach)

A Tesco and a Carrefour on Koh Samet ?

You are probably talking about some projects of "floating supermarkets" ?

It would be fun to watch Tesco and their arch competitor Carefour restock on the island that has no roads and where cars are not permitted.

Yes, 7-11s as Bambina said have ATMs.

There's a new ATM available at the recently opened Sawasdee Seaview Palace on Tubtim beach, it's in the restaraunt on the 25th floor :o

Sounds like me about Samui, 1st, time there was in the 70´s (hard and diffecult to get to) 10 years later, what a differance, today you can't get away from ATMs, car, trucks, you name your poison. I'm sure you will bee taken back at what you see, not to ruin your trip, you might like it? Have a good trip, CM-happy!

We were there four years ago, I think that there was only one ATM on the island and it ran out of money. :o
