Application Form: Application for Change of Visa

Featured Replies

In the recent medical insurance discussions online, some have suggested changing one's visa from OA to O.

Have any of you in ThaiVisaForumLand actually submitted this form (TM 86, specifically).  Were you successful in changing your OA visa to O?  And. were you able to do one-year retirement extensions afterwards?

Any comments on your experience would be appreciated!

You can only do a change of visa status from tourist visa to a non immigrant O visa entry.

See: https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_80

You can only change the type of visa. You can’t change the category of non-immigrant visa.

You would need to leave the country and apply for a Non O at an embassy/consulate outside of Thailand.

1.2 Immigration Form 87 for only foreigners who do not have visa but are allowed to stay in the Kingdom

Does the Visa Exempt Entry qualify to the above Form 87 to allow change to Non-O?
