webfact Posted December 9, 2019 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Jurin pushes for discounted goods to reduce cost of living By The Nation Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce, Jurin Laksanawisit Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Jurin Laksanawisit has urged his ministry to coordinate with manufacturers, department store operators and entrepreneurs nationwide to discount the price of goods from 10 to 70 per cent in order to reduce people’s cost of living. Adviser to the minister, Malika Boonmeetrakool Mahasook, said on Sunday (December 8 ) that the deputy prime minister will hold a press conference about a product sale event on December 13 at Burachat Chaiyakorn room in the ministry’s Office of the Permanent Secretary. “Many private sector operators will participate in this event to sell their goods during the New Year festival in order to support the prime minister and the government’s policy on economic stimulus,” she said. Private sector operators participating in this event include retailers and wholesalers, department stores, hypermarket, supermarket, and convenience stores totalling over 20,000 outlets. The products will be discounted by up to 70 per cent, such as food and beverages, kitchenware, electrical appliances, clothes, construction materials, bedclothes, cosmetics, stationery, furniture and home decorations, as well as tyres and car equipment for which service fees will be discounted by 10 to 30 per cent. Malika added that some private sector operators will open their booths on the press conference day. “This event will be held from December 14 to January 12 next year,” she added.
