Stese
You may know this already but i didn't and it must be relatively new or rather the fact that it now works. The sso.go.th website now has the ability for you to create a login using your social security card, some personal details and a mobile number for a one time passcode. Works pretty well and you can see your contribution history to the system and any payments that it has paid out to you. It also says you can change the hospital but i haven't tried doing this.

All Thai Social Security members are entitled to medical treatment under the SSO scheme and are assigned a public hospital at which to receive insured services. Apparently, this website permits scheme members to change their assigned hospital online.

Stese
No this is for Thailand based workers, nothing to do with the states. If you pay into the system you get health care, maternity payments plus more.
