the change of referee

Featured Replies

I will renew my o non ImmD visa and need to change my 5 year referee.

May I know the procedure and is it complicated?  I will renew in Nonthaburi.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you asking about.

What type of extension of stay would you be applying for?

A visa cannot be renewed at immigration.

What is Non Immigrant D??? Never heard about it before

It appears this poster refers to the Immigration Department as immiD.

He has/had a non o marriage extension. Recently renewed his PP at home country (referees required?) has returned (?) and now wants to transfer all details into his new PP.  I think.

What is a referee (in this context)?

Normally they are referred to as a witness that know you and your wife to confirm you are living together as husband and wife.

I have never heard of a requirement for them to know you for 5 years.

Just find somebody to go with you if needed to be your witness.

It's usually issued to Diplomats.

Diplomats can be issued any length of permit to stay. It appears the OP was given 5 years by immigration and needs to renew it.

This type of visa/permit is very rare. I suggest you contact the Nonthaburi immigration office directly and they will advise what's required to renew your visa/permit. You may well get directed to Bangkok immigration.
