hi all, new to this so please any help would be great.so short and sweet,

I am Thailand for 4 months.i have been here 1 month so on Saturday need to go to mayanmar and back for extra 30 days.in a months time need to do it again for another 30 days then the last month apply here and pay the 1900 baht at immigration for last 30 days.

is this the correct way of doing it.i read you can apply in mayanmar for a 60 day visas this correct as it would save me one visa run.thanks for all your help, dave

I suggest you extend your current 30 day at immigration. Then prior to that 30 days is up cross border and back for another 30 day entry then extend prior to until date. So all up 2 extension with one border run

So one month already. Now go to imm and buy 30 day extension. That's 2 months.

 

Exit and re-enter Thailand gives you another 30 days which can be extended by 30. That's 4 months all up.

oh I see, I was told here at imm that can only extend 1 time for 1900 baht

Each "permission of stay" can be extended once. You will obtain 2 visa exempt and extend each one. 

So effectively 60+60= 4 months.

I suggest next time for 4 month stay enter Thailand with setv.

You can extend once for each visa exempt entry, or entry with a tourist visa. It is not one extension for each person's lifetime.

Hi Dr jack, yesterday I went across to mayanmar on boat to get 30 days visa.at thai imm he asked me how long I stay in Thailand and I said 2 more months.he said you cant, maximum another 30 days because I am here 3 months already.so by 3rd march I will have been here 90 days.I then will go to immigration and extend another 30 and go home 26th march.so I will have been here 4 months.is this ok, or can I only stay 90 days.thanks so much for any help

Each permission of stay (eg each visa exempt entry or setv can be extended once). 1900baht per extension.

There is no 90 day limit or any other limit on stays in the country other than your permit to stay date.

You can extend your new entry for 30 days at immigration without a problem.

Have you used a land border crossing before for a 30 day visa exempt entry? (There is no 30 day Visa entry). There is a limit of 2 in any one calendar year. Each Visa exempt entry, or tourist visa entry, can be extended once for 30 days. There is no set limit of total 90 days.

arrived by plane,30 days,extended at imm 30 days, did 1 land boarder 30 days and next month will do another 30 days at imm.
