Hello, I have a 1 year student visa and I would like to go on a trip to Vietnam for 1 or 2 weeks.  I have the right to do it?  no risk of losing my ED VISA ?

As many as you want. Best to get a multi reentry permit if you do more that couple trips out of the country

You can get a single re-entry permit (1000 baht) as many times as you want to or you multiple re-entry permit (3800 baht). Any of them will be valid for entry up to your current extension of your permit to stay in the country ends.

Before leaving the for your trip I suggest you get a letter from the school stating you are on a allowed short break from you studies to show immigration if they question you about your status.

OP, Ubonjoe suggestion re letter from school is good idea.

A report couple weeks back from guy with ED visa getting bit of hassle from imm upon reentry.

Think it was questions like how can he holiday etc. Can't recall the details
