Thai Lion Air said it would help bring home Thais residing in various cities in China, where air transportation is still allowed, under the airline’s “Fly them back home” project, free of charge between February 5 and 8.

Passengers will be given a thorough examination as determined by the airline as it “cooperates with government agencies on the matter”, the company said.

Passengers who are interested and want to register for a free return must be Thai nationals possessing a Thai passport. They should not have any history of travelling to Wuhan city, the epicentre of the new coronavirus outbreak.

Those interested in registering can contact +66 2529 9955 (6am-11.59pm Thai local time) or e-mail [email protected].

maybe no catches, just some good advertising

Good job Lion Air ......   I use Lion air for all my domestic travel as i have found their service to be up there with the best, and their pricing is very competative.

They may foresee a complete ban, by China, on/about 8 Feb? (That's the date TG has published as REDUCING, not eliminating, flights to/from China. Mainly because seats aren't selling.)

So maybe they want to encourage people currently holding return tickets for post 8 Feb to bug out now.

I'm amazed airline crews aren't pushing back a bit more on staffing these potentially hazardous routes?

It looks like Thai Lion Air has flights to DMK from PVG, NKG, CAN. CKG, CTU.

In checking DMK Arrivals some of these delays struck me as odd.
