Visa Extension

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm coming to the end of an Ed visa (6 months, including the 1 month extension I already made) but wondered if it might be possible to extend it at Chaeng Wattana again by 2 weeks (maybe if I show them a flight ticket out for example)? I want to stay in the country about 2 more weeks before leaving.

I've got quite a long history here... over the last 2.5 years theres 2 SE tourists visas, a bunch of tourist exempts before that and a whole bunch of in/outs (about 32 over in total I believe) from various trips I made out of Thailand on re-entry stamps.

Thanks.

No  The best you can hope for is for an extension to be denied and to be given 7 days(at a cost of 1900 Baht) during which you must leave the country.

If your visa has not expired you could do a border hop for another 60 day entry from it.

You can only do one 30 day extension per entry.

I did wonder this about the above. Just worried about not getting back in with my history...

No problem at most land border crossings. By air into the airports in Bangkok it is hard to predict.

Thanks again.

Would you recommend a SETV for the land border crossing or would a visa exempt stamp be safe?

No problem to get a visa exempt entry at at a land border. No need to get a tourist visa for the short amount of time you plan on staying.
